Uganda Cranes Captain Denis Onyango has predicted a tight duel between Uganda Cranes and Tanzania on Sunday as the sides face in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Uganda are already through, but Tanzania will need to beat Uganda and pray that Lesotho fail to beat Cape Verde.
If it all comes to pass, Tanzania will join Uganda, Kenya and Burundi as the East African countries to reach the 2019 AFCON set in Egypt in June/July.
Speaking in a pre match press conference in Tanzania, Onyango said that the game is going to be interesting, but Uganda will go all to test their plans for AFCON.
“We are preparing for our games in AFCON, of course tomorrow’s game is important because it’s an East African derby. As much as they want to win it but we also want to win it. I think its gonna be a very intersting game.
“We want to get the momentum right when we play against a tough team like Tanzania. I believe that its going to be a good game, and for us like i said, its a build up for the coming AFCON in Egypt.”
Onyango, the best player playing on the dark continent, is yet to concede in this ongoing campaign, and he will fancy to keep his record intact, if given a starting berth.
“We are playing for our pride, we want to dominate the region, and execute our principals,” Onyango added.
“They (Tanzania) gave us hard time in the reverse fixture, we know their strength. We want to enjoy the game. We have to give hard time too and a big run for their money because we are not here for a picnic.”
