Gor Mahia, where Ugandan playerd Erisa Ssekisambu and Shafic Batambuze play their club football, have been drawn against RS Berkane at the quarter finals of the 2018-19 CAF Confederations Cup.
The draw was conducted on Wednesday at the Aida Ballroom, Marriot Hotel in Cairo, Egypt.
Batambuze was sent off and will miss the first leg, while Ssekisambu came off the bench as Gor Mahia managed to overcome Petro De Luanda in the last group game as the Kenyan giants booked their knockout ticket with nine points.
The side finished second, level on points with group D leaders Zamalek who will face Morocco’s Hassania Agadir.
Gor will host the first leg on April 7 at Moi International Sports Complex before visiting Stade Municipal De Berkane on April 14.
The semi finals of this second-tier club championship will be played on April 28 and May 5, while the two-leg finals on May 19 and May 26.
Gor will face winner between Nkana and CS Sfaxien at the semis, if they manage to negotiate past Berkane at the quarters.
Note:
In the knockout stage, the eight teams play a single-elimination tournament. Each tie is played on a home-and-away two-legged basis. If the aggregate score is tied after the second leg, the away goals rule will be applied, and if still tied, extra time will not be played, and the penalty shoot-out will be used to determine the winner.
