Bright Stars captain produced a man of the match in a 2-1 victory against Nyamityobora in a league game played on Wednesday.

Ssenkatuka scored a brace, a goal in either half, as Bright Stars picked their seventh win of the season.

The Skipper has been at the wrong end of negative criticism due to poor form of recent but managed to help his side picked their second win in 15 league attempts.

Bright Stars’ Farouk Katongole scored (own goal) one back for the visitors late in the 83rd minute but it proved to be just a consolation.

This was Nyamityobora’s fourth consecutive league loss on the road this seaaon, as the club remain rooted second from the bottom with 16 points.

In the other games, Juma Balinya bagged an hat-trick as Police came from down to overcome a tricky Paidha Black Angels at Lugogo.

Mbarara’s imaginary title chances were dealt with a huge blow as the side shared spoils with Ndejje University FC at Kakyeka in a goalless draw.

The league will now take a long break due to international engagements – Uganda Cranes will face Tanzania later this month – until Tuesday, March 26.
