Uganda Cup: Proline Shock Vipers To Reach First Semis

Proline FC produced the biggest Uganda Cup upset when they eliminated last years finalists Vipers.

The Big league side were 2-1 victors against top flight and league defending champions Vipers, in a quarter final game played at StarTimes Stadium in Lugogo.

Ibrahim Bonyo came off the bench to grab the winner in extra-time. Taddeo Lwanga had levelled matters for the visitors in the 75th minute after Noordin Bunjo had given Proline a 1-0 lead.

This is the first time that Proline make the semis of the Uganda Cup – They eliminated Light SS, Nyamityobora and Onduparaka FC to reach this stage.

This was Vipers first away game in this year’s competition – They had eliminated Rushekere (WalkOver), Kiboga and Kansai Plascon all at Kitende.

Proline joins Express FC, Bright Stars and Kyetume FC to the semifinals which will be played under the home and away basis.
